The Regina Heritage Fiddlers

The Regina Heritage Fiddlers have been in existence for over 30 years. Currently, there are thirty musicians in our band. In addition to fiddles (violins, actually, but for our style of music they are called fiddles), guitars, banjos, mandolins and a piano round out the Heritage Fiddlers' sound.

Our youngest member, at age 21, plays with us when his studies at the University of Regina permit. Our most senior member is in his ninety-second year.

Our repertoire consists mostly of old-time fiddle standards such as Redwing and Snowdeer, the Red-Headed Fiddler, The Crooked Stovepipe and Maple Sugar, and country classics such as the Tennessee Waltz, Red River Valley and Mockingbird Hill. We practice once a month at the South Leisure Centre and perform approximately 75 times per year. Our audiences are almost exclusively seniors homes, nursing homes and retirement residences in and around Regina.

We are always on the lookout for new members. We are definitely a low-pressure band of musicians who play for enjoyment and the enjoyment we bring to our seniors audiences.
